About Us Out of the Fire Studio was created by Cindy Clarke and her husband Jim Willett. Cindy has been a potter all her life, first as a child with clay from her mother's garden in Dawson Creek British Columbia, then in elementary and high schools and finally as a profession. Re-located in August of 2001 from Edson to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the studio has been the home of all types of wheel thrown and hand built pottery items. We have produced a video for beginning potters called "A Down to Earth Look at How We Make Pottery" and it is available for sale here and at various retail outlets. Our two youngest children Kaileigh and John Slowinski helped to make this a real family business. Kaileigh graduated from Victoria School of Visual and Performing Arts and has started her own web design business, Darklight Creations. She will be using John's camera and editing skills to add to our pottery videos and also for her web sites. John has completed grade eleven, also at "Vic" where he specializes in music and video arts. Jim has three older children and four grandchildren. His two daughters Wendi and Keisha and their families live in Alberta. Jim's son Torrey and his wife reside in Virginia where Torrey is serving with the U.S. Navy aboard the Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier. John, Jim, Kaileigh, and Cindy Please enjoy your visit to our site. If you have any questions we will always be happy to try and answer them. |
